1. A LAN card ,cost around Rs150.
2. Cross Over Cable ,length of the distance between two computers.If you don't have the knowledge about the crossover cable then ask the shopkeeper to make it for you. Other wise it will cost you more.The cable cost is around Rs 10/meter
If you arrange the above items then start the things.
1. Install the LAN card on the system on which you are running the Internet.
and put in the cross over cable in the lan card
2. Go to network connections through my computer->my Network Places -> View network connections in XP.
3. Open the connection from which you use the intenet. Go to the properties and move to the Advanced tab -> Internet connection sharing and here enable the option allow other computer's to connect through this connection and select the connection from the connection name. Select the name of the connection that you have the LAN card.
* * select the connection that you which you have just installed the LAN card .
* * select the connection that you which you have just installed the LAN card .
4. Goto properties TCP/IP settings and again properties of the TCP/IP settings.Check the Use following ip address.
5. In the ip address put 192.168.172.1
6. The subnet mask automatically comes as 255.255.255.0
7. Leave all other as blank and prees ok.
8. Now move to the other computer and now plug in the cable in this computer.
9. Now again move to the network connections as above. and here put the ip address as 192.168.172.2 and then press ok.
10. Open the network connections again in the second computer in which you have entered the ip address as 192.168.172.2 and now check the option obtain ip address automatically
11. And now you can browse the internet on your browser.
12. for looking the computer's over the LAN use the My network places here you will see the name of the computer that's connected
